Altadena’s Rhythm Reaches the World
In January 2025, The Jennifer Hudson Show featured Rhythms of the Village as one of Los Angeles’ community heroes. The segment honored Baba Onochie and his son, Emeka, for their strength and service after the Altadena fires.
When the flames took our store, they opened their home.
It became a space for neighbors, students, and families to gather, heal, and give.
Jennifer’s team helped share that rhythm with the world, a reminder that culture isn’t something you can burn down. It lives in people, in drums, in connection.
We’re deeply thankful for the love, visibility, and encouragement this feature brought to our Village and to every person who has stood with us through the rebuild.
